Hello, my name is John Dearden.
In a nut shell, I engrave any items of jewellery and glassware by hand and machine, at a fair price and just as importantly...on time.
I’m on the fifth floor at House of Fraser Manchester, where I’ve been based since 1978 just before my 21st birthday, when I literally “Got the key to the door” of my workshop, okay “broom cupboard”.
Since then, I've been privileged to inscribe thousands of items for a variety of special occasions. The most important commission to this day however, is always the one which I happen to be working on. It can be anything, from a Tiffany bangle to an electric guitar. An antique decanter to the back of a bus and just about everything in between.
Engraving orders can also be left and collected at the Trafford Centre, care of “The Watch Hospital”.
I engrave at promotional events throughout the year at venues including, Jo Malone, Harvey Nichols, Monica Vinader and Selfridges. See “events” page for dates and details.
