My name is John and in a nut shell, I engrave any item of jewellery or glassware etc; at a fair price and on time. My workshop is on the fifth floor at House of Fraser Manchester, formerly known as Kendals, where I've been since 1978. I am in the store Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 5.30pm. No two days are ever the same and I really love my job, which is just as well because I'm not really too hot with spread sheets or quantum physics!

In addition to traditional hand engraving, I engrave by computerised machine for more geometrical work or large quantity runs. The most important piece of work is always the one that I happen to be working on, whether it's a monogram on a 44 piece set of cutlery, an inscription inside of a locket or Waterford bowl, attention to detail is the hall mark of my craft.
